The camp of Newcastle star Anthony Gordon has made it clear the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool

The Newcastle star’s representatives have told Arsenal he would be keen to join Mikel Arteta despite strong interest from Liverpool.

Arsenal are planning an attack on Newcastle as the summer window approaches

Arsenal’s summer plans are reportedly heavily linked with Eddie Howe’s side.

According to recent reports, Andrea Berta and the Gunners recruitment team have been eyeing up to three Magpies stars, with Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento and Sandro Tonali all being heavily considered for a potential move this summer.

Newcastle currently sit in mid-table and face the prospect of missing out on European football entirely next season, a situation that gives their key players real reason to consider their futures.

Arsenal are aware of that dynamic and have put themselves in position to act if a move is possible.

Livramento has been on Berta’s radar for some time, possibly driven by the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Ben White.

The contract negotiations between Livramento and Newcastle have not yet come to an end, making the situation continue as Man City is also said to be looking forward.

Tonali is a different type of target – a ball-winner and tempo-setter in midfield who can add a different dimension to a department that already contains Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi.

He has been linked with Arsenal since he reliably reported his contact in January, although Tonali’s agent rejected official talks at the time.

The chance to work under Arteta at a club that is fighting for the league and Champions League titles is something that his camp have flagged up.

Arsenal’s main target on the left side of attack this summer remains Julian Alvarez, but the Atlético Madrid striker has made it clear in his interviews that he sees himself as a central midfielder rather than a wide player – which limits how easy that deal can be.

That has forced Arteta’s side to look elsewhere, and Gordon fits the profile closely.

Gordon was apparently a top target in the summer of 2024 and the interest never completely died down.

Liverpool have also been long-term suitors, meaning any deal would need to move quickly, but Arsenal are the most attractive landing spot for Gordon.

Newcastle have made it known internally that they have no intention of selling fire, so any bid for Gordon would need to be substantial to open up a discussion.

The club’s value for its key assets remains high, and selling three key players in one window would represent a major change in their transfer philosophy.

Whether Gordon, who is believed to be worth around £80m, becomes one of those departures remains an open question.

However, the idea that his representatives are now talking about his interest at Arsenal directly suggests that this summer’s story is already developing.
