Sunderland target rejected by Juventus in favor of Premier League move
Sunderland have been given a boost in the race to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi, who has rejected a move abroad to stay in the Premier League this summer.
Fabrizio Romano shared an update on the Senesi transfer
The Black Cats have been associated with Senesi for several months, and have recently held discussions with their representatives.
The Argentinian has a long list of clubs to sign him when his Bournemouth contract expires this summer following an impressive season with the Cherries.
Manchester United are also among the players who want him, while players such as Barcelona of Spain and Juventus of Italy are considered to move.
Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest update on his YouTube channel, confirming that Senesi has rejected European clubs – namely Juve – and is “ready” to join a new Premier League club this summer.
“Despite proposals from Italy, for example Juventus were interested, and other calls from Spain, he wants to stay in the Premier League.
“So Senesi will leave Bournemouth in the transfer window as a free agent, he will not sign a new contract at Bournemouth and he is ready to leave in the summer transfer window.
“And now his agents are talking to Premier League clubs.”
Senesi has played 31 of Bournemouth’s 32 games this season, providing four assists and becoming a key part of Andoni Iraola’s system with his long passing ability.

Sunderland have been forced to condemn online abuse of Brian Brobbey
Sunderland have condemned the racist abuse directed at Brian Brobbey on social media and have given the striker their full support.
The club said Brobbey was targeted online after the Black Cats’ 1-0 win over Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
On Monday, a Sunderland statement said: “Sunderland condemns in the strongest terms the racial abuse directed at Brian Brobbey on social media following Sunday’s game against Tottenham.”
“We stand firmly with Brian and support him fully and unwaveringly.
“This is not an isolated incident, the recent abuse directed at Romaine Mundle and Lutsharel Geertruida highlights the ongoing and unacceptable frequency of this behaviour, both within sports arenas and online.
“The club has reported this incident to the Premier League, on social media and to the police, and we expect that strict measures will be taken against those who did this.
“Racism is abhorrent and has no place in our sport or society, and we will continue to say it openly and unapologetically every time it happens.”
“Football must be a safe and inclusive place for everyone – without exception.”
