Report, result, goals as Mavropanos and Castellanos goals ensure Tottenham move into Premier League spot

Konstantinos Mavropanos and Taty Castellanos scored two goals each as West Ham climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone at Tottenham’s expense with a win over Wolves at the London Stadium.
Centre-back Mavropanos met Jarrod Bowen’s cross with a professional header three minutes before the end of an uninspired first half between the Hammers and the bottom side, putting the Hammers on course to end their three-game run in the top flight.

Angel Gomes hit the post with a free-kick for the visitors early in the second half, but West Ham responded by testing the woodwork with Jarrod Bowen’s drive and doubling their lead with Castellanos’ low finish inside the box after Wolves had lost the ball near the touchline.

Analysis: Good West Ham send Spurs slipping again
Tottenham’s woes have made the Premier League’s struggling hopes face one of the biggest stories of the season – with West Ham effectively closing in on Spurs’ place in the top three for the first time in 2025/26.
While Wolves are now on the brink of relegation in terms of numbers, Tottenham will join them unless new manager Roberto De Zerbi can inspire a big improvement in their last seven games.
“We will succeed.”

“All the managers in the bottom three looked at that and said ‘that’s the last thing we wanted,'”, former Spurs and West Ham midfielder Jamie Redknapp told Sky Sports of West Ham’s impressive performance.
“[Their rivals are] under pressure now. Mavropanos produced an incredible [first] head to silence anyone.”
Second-bottom Burnley, who host Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday (14:00 BST), are 12 points from safety and 10 behind Spurs.
