Crystal Palace are looking to hire a “brilliant” manager to replace Glasner
Crystal Palace are now looking to replace “strategic genius” Oliver Glasner, who recently won the Manager of the Season award.
Palace are looking to replace the “best” manager in their history
Glasner has lifted three trophies in a remarkable spell at Selhurst Park, the FA Cup, Community Shield and Europa Conference League, and Adam Wharton has suggested the Austrian is the club’s greatest ever manager.
The midfielder said: “He has to be one of the best managers Crystal Palace has ever had. He has made a big difference in the way the team looks at competitions. We are not just looking to stay in the Premier League and be in Europe, we are looking to win and go very high.”
The 51-year-old leaves big shoes to fill, but Selhurst Park should be an attractive venue this summer, with victory in the Europa Conference League securing next season’s Europa League qualification.
It looks like the Eagles will miss out on Andoni Iraola, as the former AFC Bournemouth boss is keen to replace Arne Slot at Liverpool.
Therefore, Steve Parish has now started looking at other options, and the Ligue 1 Manager of the Season winner has now emerged as a target.
The palace is now working to appoint a “tactical genius” to replace Glasner
According to a report from talkSPORT, Crystal Palace are now looking at a move for RC Lens manager Pierre Sage, but it remains to be seen whether a deal will happen.
Sage remains under contract until the summer of 2028, and has suggested he could see out his current deal, saying: “There is no reason for that (the situation regarding his future) to change. But there are many contacts. I have a contract and I will try to honor it. I am very happy at this club.”
With Iraola now set for a move to Anfield, a number of other managers have entered the fray to take over at Palace, with Kieran McKenna, Sean Dyche and Thomas Frank also in contention.
The Lens boss has emerged as a target after an impressive campaign, guiding his side to a second-placed finish in Ligue 1, while lifting the French Cup, with a 3-1 victory over OGC Nice in the final.
Manchester City star Ryan Cherki is also a big fan of the 47-year-old, saying: “People forget how smart you are.
“Every game is prepared down to the millimetre. We know exactly where the gaps are, and what we have to do with the ball. He makes the ball easy for us.”

As such, while losing Glasner after such an amazing season is a tough pill to swallow, Sage could be a very exciting replacement.
