La Liga club could be forced to sell £52m star to Everton or Aston Villa

Everton and Aston Villa have received a major boost in their hunt to sign the attacking star this summer, with his club now resigned to missing out on a Premier League target.

Everton and Aston Villa are fighting to win La Liga

With Champions League football secured, Aston Villa can breathe a sigh of relief and look ahead to what could be a busy summer of reinforcements.

Although their PSR problems have not completely disappeared, the Villans should at least have the license to sign a new receiver at the right price for Unai Emery.

Villa want to sign a player who is “unreal”.

As for Everton, they also have their own ambitions. The Toffees have been out of the world, themselves, this season and will be hoping to use the transfer window to close that gap.

It’s always a good sign when their transfer ambitions extend to sides like Villa and that could see both clubs enter an expensive battle to sign the La Liga star.

According to TeamTalk, Real Betis fear they will have to sell Abde Ezzalzouli amid interest from Aston Villa and Everton this summer, with Newcastle also in the mix, as several clubs plan to trigger his €60m (£52m) release clause.

The Spanish club fully expect to lose the talented winger in the coming months, with City Football Group also eyeing a big-money splash.

Real Betis defender Abde Ezzalzouli

Once a Barcelona asset, Ezzalzouli is finally showing his potential at Real Betis. This season alone, the 24-year-old has been involved in 28 goals in all competitions, making him Everton’s top scorer.

Whether or not the Toffees are willing to spend the transfer fee to take on the winger remains to be seen. The numbers certainly suggest you’ll be worth the money.

Ezzalzouli is compared to Kvaratskhelia

Their pursuit of Ezzalzouli is why Aston Villa had to defend Champions League football. It should put them in a very strong position to stop Everton’s challenge and finally find a consistent, consistent goalscorer.

At a time when the Premier League is all about pragmatism, a player like Ezzalzouli has stood out. Como scout Ben Mattinson has even compared the midfielder to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and it’s easy to see why when you look at the game numbers.

Kvaratskhelia (44) finished five times ahead of Ezzalzouli (39) this season.

There is still a long way to go for the Betis man to match the PSG star all the way, but the potential is there for all to see. If Villa have the money to spend this summer, they should not hesitate to trigger the winger’s release clause.

As for Everton, they may be forced to miss out on failing to qualify for European football this season.
