Newcastle are serious about signing Dusan Vlahovic
This incredible development has put Newcastle United in the red. The Magpies are keen to land a powerhouse striker to spearhead their ambitious project.
With Newcastle desperately on the hunt for a top goalscorer to bolster their frontline, the chance to sign the £80m asset without paying a penny in transfer fee is an incredibly enticing proposition.
The St James’ Park chiefs are reportedly willing to fork out star wages to tempt Vlahovic to Tyneside, viewing him as a modern-day No.9.
Lots of competition with top European giants linked
However, the Magpies face an uphill battle to secure his signature. The availability of a world-class striker on a free transfer has sparked a frenzy among Europe’s elite, meaning there will be plenty of competition.
Alongside Newcastle, Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are all keeping a close eye on the situation.
United see him as an ideal replacement for their front line, while Arsenal and Spurs are both keen to land the hotshots.
The race goes beyond England, however; Continental powerhouses Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with the Serbian international.
Vlahovic’s representatives have already been linked with a number of clubs, and while his next move remains open, Newcastle are determined to fight tooth and nail against the European giants to win the race.
