Farke must sell “explosive” Leeds flop and become Jack Harrison 2.0

Leeds United are already eyeing potential signings in the upcoming summer transfer window, although they are yet to confirm their Premier League safety.

They are reportedly eyeing PSV centre-forward Troy Parrott to bolster their options in the striker department, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha, and Joel Piroe making up their current squad.

The Irishman has scored 28 goals in all competitions for the Dutch club this season and could arrive at Elland Road as the Whites’ best signing.

Daniel Farke appears to be looking to bring in another striker to add competition to the squad, and Parrott’s goal return suggests he will do just that.

However, with Calvert-Lewin scoring 11 goals this season, there are other areas in the squad that should be looked at first in the summer window.

Where Leeds need to strengthen in the transfer window

The first position the Whites need to strengthen in the summer transfer window is wide, because Farke’s wings have not delivered enough in the final third this season.

Noah Okafor, who has scored four goals, is the only top-flight midfielder to have scored once in the Premier League in the 2025/26 campaign, as Wilfried Gnonto and Dan James both failed to find the net.

Jack Harrison also failed to score or provide an assist in 11 league games in the first half of the season before being loaned out to Fiorentina.

The England midfielder returned to Elland Road last summer after a two-year loan spell at Everton, scored three Premier League goals in two seasons, and failed to make an impression before leaving on loan again.

Harrison’s struggles suggest he won’t be the answer to their wider problems next term, which is why Leeds need to sign at least one new player, but he isn’t the only on-loan forward to be sold this summer.

Leeds’ new Jack Harrison

The West Yorkshire club have another striker to sell because the striker has failed to show that he has what it takes to shine in the Premier League.

Jack Harrison

It was a gutsy decision for Farke when he decided to send Largie Ramazani on loan to Valencia last summer after the Belgian talent scored six goals in seven Championship games in the 2024/25 campaign.

The Leeds loanee, once described as an “explosive” talent by scout Jacek Kulig, did not do enough during his loan spell in Spain to suggest he will return to Elland Road in the summer and release the Premier League next term.

In retrospect, a return of five goals in 19 LaLiga games is not a bad season for Ramazani, but three of his five goals have come from the penalty area.

Taking penalties, the defender has scored two goals and provided one assist in 19 appearances in the Spanish top flight, while averaging less than one important goal and completion per game.

His all-round performances have not been good enough to secure a regular place in Carlos Corberan’s first team, as he has started just seven of 19 games in LaLiga.

So, Ramazani is well on his way to becoming Harrison 2.0 because, as an English striker, he has had the best rating while away from Elland Road on loan.

Despite showing good signs in the Championship last season, scoring six goals, Farke didn’t feel he was good enough for a Premier League side and Corberan didn’t feel he was good enough to be a regular starter in LaLiga.

Therefore, Leeds should look to go out and sign new players to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window, rather than bringing Harrison and Ramazani back into the fold.

The Whites should release money for both teams on loan, as long as there are clubs willing to pay to sign them permanently, and try to improve their team with the money that could increase.
