BBC, ITV plans to watch England and Scotland football live in the UK including channels, online streaming, kick-off times

The television schedule to watch England and Scotland in the group stages of the 2026 World Cup and beyond has been announced.

BBC Sport and ITV Football have the rights to broadcast the competition in the UK and will split the matches, including the matches between the two countries.

In the 2022 final, more than 19 million people watched the Three Lions play France in the quarter-finals.

With a huge viewing audience expected this time around, here’s what you need to know about TV options and how to watch.

World Cup 2026: What England games are on BBC and ITV?

England’s first match, against Croatia, and the third, against Panama, will be on ITV. BBC Sport will show the second time, against Ghana.

When is the opening game of the World Cup?

In the opening game, Mexico will face South Africa on June 11 at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

Canada will take part in its opening match a day later in Toronto, with the United States also participating in its opening match on June 12 against Paraguay in Los Angeles.

When are the play-offs?

Six places in the World Cup are still to be decided, four teams from UEFA and two from the other five confederations will take their place in the final.

The UEFA and Inter-confederation play-offs begin with semi-final ties on March 26. The play-offs will follow on March 31, when qualification will be completed.
