Liverpool GK has an offer from Juventus

Arne Slot answered questions about the future of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker today, and I thought I’d share some information sent by me.

There have been reports about Alisson already agreeing a deal with Juventus, but what exactly is going on?

According to well-connected sources who asked not to be identified to protect the relationship, it is more complicated than that, even if the interest from Juve is genuine.

Many sources also confirmed to me that Alisson responded well to the approach from Juventus, although they stopped short of saying that he has already agreed on the terms of the transfer, so I cannot confirm that yet or there may be a reason to interpret the situation in that way.

Liverpool can block Alisson’s transfer

The one problem with all of this is that Liverpool are expected to push for Alisson to stay, although Slot wouldn’t offer much when asked about the situation today.

“I’m learning the same thing as you but I won’t talk about it here. You can ask as many times as you want in different ways, but our fans need to support Alisson if it’s his first game or his last game,” said the Dutchman at a press conference, as quoted by Empire of the Kop.

Inside LFC, the feeling is that Alisson is still number one and they hope to persuade him to reject any other offers, although some sources indicate that the most likely outcome is still for the player himself to seek a new challenge.

“Juventus are very interested in Alisson and he has responded well to their interest, he has been impressed with their work,” another source said. “At the moment it looks like Liverpool will try to keep him but it’s possible, or maybe he’s already made up his mind to try something different.”

Another source added: “Alisson is being tried a lot by Juventus. There is also interest from Inter Milan, but it has progressed so much with Juve now, I would expect that to pass.”

Alisson transfer details

My understanding is that Juventus are ready to offer Alisson a three-year contract worth around 15 million euros per year, and the Brazilian has indicated that he would accept those terms.

Nothing has been fully agreed, however, especially as Liverpool and Juventus would still need to negotiate a transfer fee, with the 33-year-old still having one year left on his Reds contract.

Group-by-group discussions may soon follow, and it will be interesting to see how things progress.

At the moment, I don’t know if Liverpool are looking for goalscorers, either because they will simply promote Giorgi Mamadashvili to the starting position, or because they ultimately don’t expect Alisson to leave.
