Arsenal are making a move to sign Kenan Yildiz, a big fan of Mikel Arteta

Arsenal have now been linked with the signing of the “fantastic” star, with manager Mikel Arteta known to be a big fan.

David Ornstein drops an update on Arsenal’s summer transfer plans

Having failed in their pursuit of the Champions League, David Ornstein has suggested the Gunners are well aware they lack the quality of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich in the bottom third, and are looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer.

Ornstein says: “Arsenal know the need to improve at the end, they are behind, statistically, the likes of PSG and Bayern Munich. The #9 position is interesting. Left attack is a priority for them, they have been looking at it for a few years and this could be the summer they look for something.”

“They want a #6/#8 midfielder, they want to strengthen at the back as well. If you add up the amount they can make, you can see that the money that came in last summer has been doubled or exceeded.”

The north Londoners’ interest in signing a new player also comes amid doubts over the future of Gabriel Martinelli, with it revealed that Andrea Berta wants to offload the Brazilian this summer.

Berta is a big fan of Athletic Club striker Nico Williams, but a move has also been made to sign a different left-back, who is highly regarded by Arteta.

According to a report from The Athletic, Arsenal have now submitted an inquiry into a deal for Juventus midfielder Kenan Yildiz, who earns £49,000-a-week at the Allianz Stadium.

However, the Italian giants have no interest in allowing a move, and have informed the Gunners that the striker is not for sale, meaning they have moved on to other options, with Leicester City youngster Jeremy Monga also interested.

Monga is still only 16-years-old, suggesting he may not be able to make an immediate impact at the Emirates Stadium, unlike Yildiz, who was described as “very good” by Jacek Kulig, while receiving praise from scouts for having two feet.

The 21-year-old has outperformed target Williams in every metric that matters to the winger in the 2025-26 season.

Arteta is a big fan of the young Turkish man, and has encouraged Berta to make a move in the past, only for the manager to be disappointed with a seemingly impossible deal this summer, with Fabrizio Romano confirming Juventus’ position.
