Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal have made a move for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Arsenal are in contact with wanted midfielder Sandro Tonali
Speaking on his YouTube channel, transmission expert Fabrizio Romano gave a comprehensive update on the Newcastle engine race.
While Manchester United have been linked with Tonali, Romano clarified that the Red Devils were “cold” on the deal due to the large financial package required, and chose to complete the deal for Atalanta’s Ederson Silva.
This financial uncertainty from Old Trafford has opened the door to other difficulties. Romano revealed that Arsenal are officially in the mix, having started contact over the past few days.
However, the Gunners were not alone, as Manchester City focused on Tonali, although Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson remained at the forefront. Newcastle are expected to demand more than £100 million for their prized asset.

“There are many questions about Manchester United and Sandro Tonali. You will remember that there were reports in April and May linking both Ederson and Tonali to United. Now I can give you an update on both.
“For Ederson, it was United’s decision and they decided to look for him.
“For Sandro Tonali, the appreciation is still there, but my understandinga-mom.
“Tonali could be an opportunity for Manchester City, although at the moment they are focusing on Elliot Anderson, a player that United are interested in, who is still monitoring the situation.
“Apart from those two clubs, Arsenal have made calls in recent days about Tonali, putting them in the mix. Many clubs could still be in the running, so the situation around Sandro Tonali could be very attractive.”
