Tottenham believe the £60m star wants to sign him

Tottenham Hotspur’s talks to sign the “amazing” $60 million star are now progressing, and he is believed to be keen to leave, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Lewis family are promising to make big changes at Tottenham this summer

In a recent letter to supporters, the Lewis family promised to make significant changes this summer, after Tottenham finished 17th in the Premier League for two consecutive years.

“Our desire is to bring back the spirit of the team and bring back the excitement, fearlessness and bold football that we always hear described. That means that football is moving forward. The Board and the Executive team have set their plans to meet this desire.

“This will require investment – in our teams, in our school, in our backroom operations and so on — and we are fully committed to this. We are not selling the club. We are all in. We are investing in it. You will see more of this in the coming months.

“We care deeply about Spurs. The rebuilding of the club that needs, and should, has begun. The change needed is profound. It will take time and commitment, but change is happening.”

Work is already underway, with Spurs keen to strengthen their defence, and are closing in on deals for Liverpool defender Andy Robertson and AFC Bournemouth’s Marco Senesi, as both players’ current contracts expire this summer.

Savinho has been identified as a target, with the £60m-rated winger getting limited game time at Manchester City throughout the 2025-26 season, and now there has been a new update on the North Londoners’ pursuit.

Tottenham are stepping up talks to sign Savinho

In a recent X post, Romano revealed that Tottenham are locked in talks to sign the Brazilian, and he is believed to be keen on a move to north London.

The transmission expert said: “Ongoing talks for Savinho to move to Tottenham as revealed two weeks ago… and going well. #THFC believe Savinho wants the move, talks are ongoing as Man City may open doors for him to leave if there is a good offer. Deal on.”

Although Pep Guardiola was reluctant to give the 22-year-old regular minutes last season, he has been impressed with his previous performances, saying after the 2-0 win over Leicester City in the 2024-25 campaign: “I am very happy with Savinho. Amazing skill and quality he can prove”.

“I am very happy for him; for the game, the goal, and the assist because playing on the left, you can make that cross… very happy”.

The Brazilian, who has 13 appearances, has seven goals and 16 assists in 84 appearances for City, but was not selected in Carlo Ancelotti’s World Cup squad.

Therefore, if Savinho’s career is to really take off, he may need to move to a club where consistent game time is more of a guarantee, and a move to Spurs would be ideal.
