Tottenham ready to “accelerate” move for £60m star, De Zerbi is keen on him personally

Tottenham Hotspur “can now fast-track” moves for another Premier League star, following the expected arrivals of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.

Tottenham are closing in on the contracts of two Premier League stars

Tottenham are wasting no time ahead of the summer transfer window, which officially opens on June 15, with Sky Sports revealing they are ready to sign defender Andy Robertson and defender Marcos Senesi.

Both defenders are available on a free transfer, with Robertson’s Liverpool contract set to expire at the end of June, while Senesi will leave AFC Bournemouth when his contract expires this summer.

Strengthening the defense could be crucial, with Spurs conceding 57 goals in the Premier League during the 2025-26 campaign, the most of any team to finish outside the relegation zone.

Roberto De Zerbi looks set to bring in proven Premier League players, with the manager set to sign the Manchester City star.

Tottenham plan to sign Man City star after Senesi and Robertson

Taking to X, reporter Sebastien Vidal revealed Tottenham could “now speed up” their pursuit of Man City midfielder Savinho, who is “wanted by Roberto De Zerbi”, and it is believed a deal will be in place for around £60m.

De Zerbi is keen to strengthen his front line this summer, and Spurs could now opt to step up their pursuit of the Brazilian, with Senesi and Robertson expected to join.

The north London side continue to “rebuild”, after a poor Premier League campaign, which saw them finish in 17th place, narrowly avoiding the relegation with a 1-0 win against Everton on the final day of the season.

The 22-year-old spent two full seasons at City, arriving from Girona in 2024, but struggled to make the XI for the 2025-2026 campaign, with Jeremy Doku making the left-back his own.

However, the Brazilian registered ten assists in 29 Premier League games during his first season, showing that he has the quality to succeed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, if given regular minutes.

Journalist Vayam Lahoti also suggested that the former Girona man has all the tools to go even further, saying: “Savinho is good, very good to watch. City who have won and won will be champions for years to come. He needs better judgment but he will get there, he has all the right ingredients.”
