Tottenham are making a move to hijack Newcastle’s top target to replace Gordon

Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid for the exciting youngster, but his club are already in talks with Newcastle United over a replacement for Anthony Gordon.
Gordon is delighted as Newcastle look for a new player
Gordon described his move to Barcelona as a “dream come true” after signing a five-year contract with the Spanish champions.
The 25-year-old England striker, who joined from Newcastle on a deal that runs until 2031, was finally unveiled to the media on the club’s YouTube channel on Friday evening.
Barca did not disclose the transfer fee when confirming his arrival, but the reported £69.3million means the Magpies have made a huge profit on the £45m they paid Everton for his services in January 2023.
“I am very happy and proud to be here, my dream has come true, I am part of the best team in the world, thank you.
“I’ve always wanted Barca. Barca, as I said at the time, is the biggest club in the world. It’s something I dreamed about when I was a child. It’s really a dream come true.”
The Magpies are already in talks to find a replacement, with reports this week suggesting that Real Betis striker Abde Ezzalzouli is the top target for a move to St James’ Park.
However, they are not alone in the race, with several Premier League sides lined up after realizing that Real Betis need to sell at least one key player this summer.
Tottenham join the race for Ezzalzouli
Aston Villa are interested in Ezzalzouli and have made an approach, as have Tottenham, who have been busy in the Premier League at the start of the summer.

The 24-year-old is at his best on the left side, but can also play in attacking positions.
He scored ten goals and provided eight assists in La Liga this season, as well as finding the net four times in the Europa League.
According to Whoscored’s rating system, the Moroccan was the best player in Spain’s senior team this season who did not play for one of the two big clubs.

The Sporting Witness interprets reports from Spain that Betis must ‘balance their books before June 30’, and are even buying cheap replacements already.
The report does not put a price tag on Ezzalzouli, but he is thought to be worth around £35m.
