Rangers are now in active talks to sign the “excellent” star defender this summer

With Lawrence Shankland signed and sealed, Rangers have continued talks to sign key defensive reinforcements to start their summer in style.

If anyone in Scotland thinks the 49ers are losing faith in Danny Rohl, think again. They are ready to back their man fully in his first summer transfer window and have already started their business with Shankland.

The controversial move significantly weakens Hearts and gives the Gers a much-needed solution to their quest for consistent goals. But they are not finished yet.

Josh Windass could also complete a return to the club from Wrexham, and defensive reinforcements could be on the cards in three quick-fire moves.

According to TeamTalk, Rangers are in active talks to sign Akpe Victory from Zalaegerszeg this summer. Talks are fast-paced and the Ibrox chiefs could present a formal offer sooner rather than later.

Rohl is reported to be prioritizing adding stability to his backline, amid rumors that Premier League sides could sign Emmanuel Fernandez.

The defender has recovered after a difficult start in Scotland to become a key player and that has not shown, with Premier League champions Arsenal reportedly eyeing his signature.

Replacing a defender won’t be easy if he’s looking for the exit door, but Victory could be a solid player. He is only 19 years old and has won the praise of Jacek Kulig, a talent scout who called him “beautiful” in April.

As an emerging talent, he could develop into the real deal under Rohl’s guidance at Ibrox.

Rohl is “excited” about Shankland’s arrival

Rangers have had Shankland on their radar for some time now, but it makes his move all the more interesting that Hearts are now direct title contenders.
