Florian Plettenberg: Manchester City’s interest in Enzo Fernandez Becomes ‘concrete’
According to a sensational review from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the switch to the Etihad Stadium quickly turned into a “concrete” one for Fernandez.
The report claims that Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca remains absolutely ‘desperate’ to secure the signature of his former Chelsea boss.
Maresca, who has a close and trusting relationship with the midfielder, reportedly views Fernandez as a unique tactical profile, the kind of dynamic orchestra that City currently lack in their star-studded engine room.
However, the Citizens will face fierce competition for the services of this 25-year-old player. European giants Real Madrid are heavily linked with the Argentinian player.
Paris Saint-Germain also have Fernandez on their transfer shortlist, putting the midfielder at the center of a heavyweight tog-of-war.

Enzo Fernandez could leave Chelsea this summer
Despite arriving at Stamford Bridge for a record fee and subsequently earning the captain’s armband, Fernandez is expected to shut down a move from West London next window.

A difficult campaign ended with a final day defeat at Sunderland, a game many insiders believe was his farewell in a Chelsea shirt.
While Fernandez enjoyed each campaign statistically, with 15 goals and seven assists in 53 games across all competitions, his mind was elsewhere.
In January, shortly after Chelsea’s Champions League exit to PSG, Enzo openly admitted he would welcome the chance to stay in the Spanish capital, flirting with a move to Real Madrid.
The midfielder even questioned his commitment to the Chelsea project by answering “I don’t know” when asked if he will be at the club next season.
In the end, then-manager Liam Rosenior punished him for his comments, saying ‘the line was crossed’, by giving him a two-game ban.
It was then reported that Enzo will make a decisive decision about his future with suggestions that he will submit a transfer request.
Although he is yet to deliver one, there are many chances that Enzo will leave, with Real Madrid and Man City emerging as strong contenders.
