Alonso keen on Chelsea’s big-money move to sign Leverkusen star

Xabi Alonso has already shortlisted his first summer targets as Chelsea manager, including Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba.
Alonso plans Chelsea’s first signing
Chelsea’s new manager has a lot of work to do this summer. The Blues are back in the top flight for the tenth time and could go without qualifying for Europe this season. Well, Alonso stepped in anyway – he was tasked with doing what so many others before him had failed to do by making the BlueCo project a success.
Most importantly, things are a little different this time. Unlike Liam Rosenior, Alonso takes on the role of manager rather than head coach. This means that you will be more responsible for sales and hiring, rather than what happens on the pitch.

Hiring Xabi Alonso may not be enough.
Power is looking to capitalize on it quickly if the latest reports are anything to go by. According to TeamTalk, Alonso is seriously planning a move to sign Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen.
The towering defender has long been on Chelsea’s radar and could now become the new manager’s first big-money signing. Of course, with Alonso unbeaten in the Bundesliga, those at Stamford Bridge will know it’s a match made in heaven.
However, he is not the only Spaniard who is a fan. BlueCo is also serious about Tapsoba. In what feels like a rarity, everyone in West London is pushing in the same direction.

Chelsea have been searching for a defensive leader for a long time and while Levi Colwill’s injury did not help at the start of the season, they are yet to sign someone who can fill that role like Tapsoba.
Chelsea should come clean about Tapsoba
The Tapsoba deal just makes perfect sense. The 6 foot 4 defenseman has thrived in Alonso’s system in the past, he will never lose. He is an outstanding defender that Chelsea have been missing and it looks like he could be on his way out of Leverkusen in the near future. Excellent opportunity for the Blues.

The 27-year-old is doing well where Wesley Fofana is struggling. When it comes to recovering possession, Tapsoba could be a huge improvement for Chelsea.
Their rushing stats have failed all season. Alonso is unlikely to represent that. That’s why he can do with a signer who knows his standards and who can provide quick improvement.
If BlueCo are to quickly reinstate their new boss, agreeing to a reunion with their former protege should be among their top priorities this summer.
