The club have told Newcastle they plan to break the record signing of their star player

Newcastle United are now plotting a move to sign Bazoumana Toure as part of their resurgence this summer.
It’s no real surprise that the Magpies are chasing an attacking addition. Their starting line-up has not been the same since the departure of Alexander Isak last summer. The arrival of Nick Woltemade, Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa should have improved that department, but it was not to be.
Now, to compound Eddie Howe’s woes, it looks likely that Anthony Gordon will be on the way to the exit door in the coming months, amid interest from Bayern Munich. Replacing the star offensive lineman will be on the agenda for the second straight summer as a result.
Wijnaldum look-alike: Newcastle now ‘likely’ to sign £65m star after talks
Newcastle will face a period of change this summer.
According to Patrick Berger of Sky Germany, Hoffenheim have been tipped off that Newcastle want to sign Toure from Hoffenheim and could potentially replace the Bundesliga club’s record-selling player this summer.
According to Berger, the Magpies have launched an inquiry into the talented winger, who is valued at around €50m (£43m). That would beat Hoffenheim’s current record transfer, which surprisingly saw Joelinton move to Newcastle in a deal worth €43.5m (£38m) in 2019.
Some will be quick to suggest that £43m is a lot of money for a player who has never appeared in the Premier League, but Toure’s numbers speak for him. The 20-year-old is Hoffenheim’s top scorer, with five goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season.
Replacing Gordon won’t be an easy task, but Newcastle could soon find out why the young star is the most wanted man across Europe.
“Very good” Toure can replace Gordon
Even Howe can’t escape the reality of Newcastle’s summer. Outside of European football, they face the prospect of losing a few stars with Gordon at the top of that list. Losing the winger will be a huge blow. He’s taken on the role of talisman since Isak left, but that doesn’t mean he’s irreplaceable.
Toure represents a young prospect ready to transform Newcastle’s frontline, providing a final boost to Gordon when he reaches his peak potential.

There’s a reason why Ben Mattinson was full of praise for Toure, with the Como scout calling him “fantastic”. Statistically speaking, Gordon has done very well this season when Bayern Munich called up the Newcastle star’s name.
It will be sad if the winger leaves, but that will be quickly forgotten when a player of Toure’s caliber arrives. After becoming Hoffenheim’s best player, the 20-year-old is ready to take the Premier League by storm.
