Razzball Commenter Leagues, Week 8, 2026 Fantasy Baseball

As we approach Memorial Day and week eight of the Razzball Commenter Leagues iteration, our league standings are a little more stable. Those teams that came out on top by 30 points at the end of April are back in the pack (hopefully), and those teams that were sitting in last place (I’ve had more than a few of those) are also coming out behind (though not as much as I would have liked). This is the time to look at that and see where you are lacking and make a move. Historically, the next two weeks are the busiest trading weeks of the year. Something about a long weekend and two months of math, realizing we’re a quarter of the way through the season, gets the trading juices flowing. The week leading up to the deadline is another busy trading week. So, cozy up to the grill or the fire pit, grab your favorite drink, and scan that parking lot while you hunt down the merchandise this weekend. Good luck in your quest for fame.

‘PERTY ‘PERTS

Each week we’ll take a peek at our residents to see who wants the best “professional” RCLer in the country. We’ll take notes, check postures and generally trap you. The article is also a link, so feel free to follow along as we go.

Derek, the Line Builder got first place this week. He held this spot back in week two and has been circling the podium ever since. A two-point gain, coupled with The Itch’s four-point loss secured the switch. Cram was the big mover this week though, picking up 11 points and moving up three places to sixth. I still hope to do the same one day, but this week, I lost a lot, down 4.5 points. At least I didn’t have Gray’s 8.19 ERA for the week. Wow. Dollander, Braxton, Ashcraft, Dominguez, Gilbert, Lambert…I think Gray has all the dishes lined up this week. It’s difficult.

RAZZSLAM STANDINGS UPDATE

Each week we’ll also look at the top ten standings in our other Razzball sponsored league, RazzSlam. This is our NFBC Best Ball league with managers from across the industry, from content providers to fans and readers like you.

James Sweeney stays on top of RazzSlam for another week. Topher is in freefall, going from two weeks ago to being tied for ninth this week. Roto_Wan dropped to fourth while Andy and Mike held on to fifth and seventh, respectively. Yancy Eaton joins the top ten this week, tied for ninth.

Matt Cardinal was the big scorer this week, picking up 713 points and coming in 15th overall. Leonard Tang moved more places in the standings, jumping 61 places to 115th place thanks to a week of 640 points.

My team includes injuries, Correa, Wilson, Caballero, and recently O’Hearn. Injuries certainly do the trick in this league. If you have a few options to fill areas, it’s a big hit. Stay healthy out there.

WORKS

All trades that have gone down in the past week. Public ridicule is not only allowed, but encouraged.

Creative Chaos traded Bryan Reynolds to Nepobabies for Paul Sewald

5/17/2026 RCL 35

Not Me sold Joe Ryan to olaxsoxo for Seiya Suzuki

Just four deals this week, nothing eye-catching. I think I need to start looking at moving Michael King to a few leagues. Perhaps this is the calm before the trading storm? These deals bring the season total to 38 trades involving 98 players (83 different players). RCL 9 and RCL 30 each have five functions.

CHURCH LEADERS

The best of the week that was.

R – 65 – Cram It (Perts League)

HR –19 – Isotopes II (RCL 34) & kcstone393 (RCL 31)

RBIs – 59 – edg88 (RCL 16)

SB – 16 – 4 Teams Arrested

AVG – .313 – Vegans (DFSers Anonymous)

K – 101 – Tximista (RCL 14)

W – 9 – murderbydeath (RCL 7), Pitch, please (FCL), & Mr. Wu’s Little Piggies (DFSers Anonymous)

SV – 8 – 5 Teams Tie

WHIP (Min. 40 IP) – 0.755 – gkramer (RCL 17) (in 50.1 IP)

Tximista set a new high in weekly hits, breaking the 100 mark. Otherwise, we got a lot of action from DFSers and murderbydeath, who sent two different teams to the leaderboard.

In other weekly news from VinWins:

29 teams had an ERA under 2, and 25 teams had an ERA over 6.

24 teams hit under .200, and 8 hit over .300.

THE CHURCH GROUP

Our weekly shout out to the team that killed it last week.

Team: Eggplant

League: RCL 16

Stats: AVG: .274, R: 52, HR: 11, RBI: 49, SB: 12

IP: 61, ERA: 2.51, ERA: 1.016, K: 63, W: 6, SV: 4

Summary: I like it when TOW teams have HR/SB balance. I think it’s a slam and legs bias. Once again, the best of the week was led by Shohei Ohtani, who hit .364 with 1 home run, a stolen base, and 8 runs scored, and added 8 strikeouts in 7 scoreless innings for the win. What a school. Drake Baldwin continued his amazing season with 3 homers and 6 ribbies. Ildemaro Vargas drove in 7 runs, while Xavier Edwards scored 6 runs and stole two bases. Jackson Chourio, Otto Lopez, AJ Ewing, and Justin Crawford also added 2 steals apiece. Freddy Peralta (11 strikeouts) and Kevin Gausman (10 Ks) each won 1 of 2 starts. Randy Vasquez, Will Warren, and Kenley Jansen also got wins. Jansen recorded 6 strikeouts in his 3 innings of work. Bryan Baker and Raisel Iglesias chipped in with a pair of saves each. Big week got Eggplant 7 points this week to move them from 2nd to 1st in RCL 16. Great job, lots of eggplants.
