RB Leipzig have emerged as the most serious suitors for the Tottenham star, with talks ongoing on the player’s side, according to a report.

That brings attention to Radu Dragusin, who only joined Spurs from Genoa in 2024 for around £26 million.

The Romanian was signed as a young defender who could develop in the Premier League, but his game time has been limited due to injuries, competition and established relationships ahead of him.

Now, according to SportsBoom, RB Leipzig are in talks with Dragusin’s representatives and are expected to submit a bid in the region of £17 million – Tottenham’s fair price.

The Bundesliga side are long-term admirers of the defender and are eyeing a move as they look to strengthen their backline, but face competition from Roma and Juventus.

For Spurs, the situation is straightforward.

Although Dragusin is heavily valued elsewhere internally, the club are said to be open to offers that meet his value between £17 million and £22 million, especially as they look to manage the club’s balance sheet and create future employment space.

The 24-year-old has not started because of the presence of Romero and van de Ven, and his chances have often come as substitutes or in cup games.

His practice season was interrupted again when he suffered a long-term ACL injury in February 2025 that kept him out for months.

A major setback halted his momentum as he began to establish himself in the team, and has made it difficult for him to put himself in a good position since his return.

That context is important when assessing Leipzig’s interest.

The German club are known for targeting players with the ability to develop, and Dragusin still fits that profile despite a difficult spell in England.
