The Reds were against a sale in January when Inter Milan came calling, but could reportedly relax that stance come the summer. If that happens, then Inter, Aston Villa and Newcastle could all fuel an interesting battle for the midfielder’s signature.

Jones, still only 25 years old, has been a serial winner during his time at Anfield. So much so that if he leaves this summer, England will leave as a winner of the Premier League twice, the Champions League, the League Cup twice and the FA Cup. Add the Club World Cup to that and it’s on.

With Sandro Tonali’s future still under discussion, Jones could quickly become a key player for those at St James’ Park this summer.

Serial winner Jones could replace Tonali

Both Manchester United and Arsenal surround Tonali. The Italian has been at the center of transfer rumors since January and with no Champions League football to offer next season, Newcastle would have no choice but to let him leave in the coming months.

In the event of Tonali’s departure, Jones would make a notable replacement. Despite Arne Slot calling him “perfect” last season, the midfielder still finds himself in a position to break into Liverpool’s midfield, and that collapse has left the door open for a summer exit.

With more than 12 months left on his current deal, Newcastle could also find a cut-price deal if Liverpool are willing to sell Jones this summer.
