Celtic are now planning a bid for the player and a fee to hijack Coventry City’s £4.3m target

Celtic are now considering using Maik Nawrocki in a swap deal to sign Cracovia’s Oskar Wojcik, having tabled a £3.5m bid.
Celtic are considering a deal to swap Wojcik
The Bhoys have to make the most of what they have in the summer and that could mean leaving Nawrocki permanently. The centre-back is on loan from Hannover 96 in the 2.Bundesliga and has made just 18 appearances for Celtic since arriving in 2023. If anyone needs to go out, it’s the 25-year-old.
Yes, it’s possible that the new manager will eventually get the best out of Nawrocki in a Celtic shirt, but it looks like they will benefit from his sale in the coming months – especially in a swap deal.
According to Polish reports relayed by Celtic Way, Celtic could offer Nawrocki in a swap deal for Cravovia’s Wojcik this summer. The Scottish giants have already seen a £3.5m bid rejected for the defender in January, with his club wanting £4.3m, but now appear ready to return to talks.
Alas, it’s important to note that it’s not just Celtic who have Wojcik on their radar. Coventry City, who are on their way to the Premier League, are also keen on the 22-year-old as are Serie A sides.
It will be a hectic race for the defender and Celtic can make it if they win. They will be hoping that the chance to sign Nawrocki in return is one that tempts Cravovia and lowers their price tag this summer.
Wojcik would be a quick upgrade for Nawrocki
A transfer that would make perfect sense for all parties. Cracovia will have a quick replacement in Nawrocki and Celtic will have a quick development in Wojcik. The 22-year-old has been in fine form all season and interest from across Europe should come as no surprise.

The £4m+ defender has fared better than his Celtic loanee in every department this season and would be better off with more experience in Scotland.
Although the Bhoys lost their price in January, using Nawrocki could help close that gap at a crucial time this summer. Much would depend on the defender accepting the move, but he needs permanent game time rather than returning to Celtic Park in the coming months.
Celtic are now showing a serious interest in signing the “excellent” defender who has been named in the 2025 Team of the Season
The Hoops are looking to strengthen their backline.
Only Falkirk and Hibernian scored more goals than Celtic who topped the Scottish Premiership this season. That record must change if they want to win again from next season.
