Busy Summer Ahead in Toronto and Ottawa
Anthony Di Marco of the Daily Faceoff joined TSN Radio in Montreal on Monday and was asked who will and needs to have a busy season: the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Ottawa Senators. In addition, he was asked how the Brady Tkachuk situation will be resolved.

Host: “I’m just going to ask you, this is probably my favorite question of the day, who’s going to have the busiest season, Toronto or Ottawa.”
Did Brady Tkachuk Play His Last Game With The Ottawa Senators?
Anthony Di Marco: “Who will do it?”
Manager: “Who Should?”
Di Marco: “Like, who needs to be in Toronto, like, because Ottawa, unfortunately, they might just have to trade Brady Tkachuk. And is it just trading Brady Tkachuk for Robert Thomas and calling it a day? Maybe that’s what you see.
But in Toronto, it should. I just worry that the marching orders from Keith Pelley and MLSE are going to be, ‘Well, no, we’re going to take it back,’ or, ‘Oh, we’re going to try to rebuild on the plane.’ But with what goods, right? Whether it’s John Chayka or Scott White, my colleague from Montreal.
If one of those guys gets a job and all of a sudden you don’t have it, I think, the ability to start wheeling and working and get this thing more in the rebuilding thing, the rebuilding direction. I’m not sure if Toronto will have a busy summer, because they can’t add anything because they don’t have supplies. They have no prospects, no draft picks. So Toronto should, but I think Ottawa will, out of necessity, and that decision will come down to Brady Tkachuk’s situation. “
Host: “Yes, and I was going to ask you about Brady Tkachuk. Are we preparing to trade that way? Because to me, it seems that things are painful there, on both sides.”
Di Marco: “I think so too. Like, look, it’s already started my editor, Matt Larkin, who I work with on the Daily Faceoff, wrote a story this morning about trade flexibility about Brady Tkachuk just to fan the flames a little bit. And it just feels like a never-ending story. I think whatever happens in the postseason, almost Ull , the team’s brand about the season as a whole.
Rumors and Noise Will Only Be Heard of Brady Tkachuk
And he is the captain of that team. He is one of the most, I would say, beloved players in the NHL. Everyone seems to love the Tkachuk brothers. Obviously, a great personality. Gold Medalists played key roles for Team USA at the Olympics. But like, you can always have your team captain be the subject of trade rumors when things go well like this.
It’s been a great two years for the Senators since the sale, as they’ve always taken over. I think Travis Green has been the best coach in the NHL the last two regular seasons, along with Mike Yeo. I think they did a great job there. But, man, I think you need to take this negative attention, whatever it is, away from the team, because it’s been a great thing for the Ottawa Senators, and that should be the focus. “
