Crystal Palace love English manager who thinks Selhurst Park is “red hot”
Crystal Palace are now targeting former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior as a replacement for the outgoing Oliver Glasner.
Glasner believes that whoever replaces him in the Palace dugout will inherit a great team, recently saying: “To be honest, when I talk about it, it makes me very proud that we can create a new category in the dressing room and on the field.
“I want to say ‘we’, because he can’t be the manager alone. It’s always together, with the players, with the team, and with the team, because the club has signed this type of players. I think that worked very well.”
The new manager could also take charge of the Europa League contenders, with the Eagles preparing for a trip to Shakhtar Donetsk in the first leg of the Europa Conference League semi-final on Thursday night.
If Glasner’s side do make it to the final, they will face either Rayo Vallecano or RC Strasbourg, meaning the Austrian has a good chance of going out on top by winning another trophy and qualifying for the Europa League.
Strasbourg won the competition by finishing seventh in Ligue 1 in the 2024-25 season, under the leadership of Rosenior, who was recently sacked by Chelsea.
The 41-year-old is therefore out of a job, and is available to be hired as Glasner’s replacement, with a report from Football Insider revealing that Crystal Palace are strong suitors of the former Strasbourg manager.

What Liam Rosenior said about Crystal Palace
During his short spell as Chelsea manager, Rosenior led his side to a 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park, although he was full of praise for Crystal Palace before the game, saying: “Selhurst Park, for me, is one of the hardest places to go. Look at the Premier League, you have to be ready for a fight. The atmosphere on the pitch will be intense, so we don’t take the game lightly.
“I was lucky enough to play against Crystal Palace at the start of the season. I know what a good team they are, and we will have to be very good to win again.”
The London-born coach may feel he still has a point to prove in the Premier League, having been quickly sacked by the Blues, but could be a dangerous appointment for the Eagles.
Crystal Palace could forget Iraola by employing a 4-2-3-1 Glasner instead
Crystal Palace are starting to step up their search for a manager ahead of Oliver Glasner’s departure.
Not only did Rosenior win 11 of his 23 games in charge, but he was also criticized for his performance in the media by Micah Richards, which shows that he still has a lot to learn.
