Bettinardi introduces the first two ‘zero-torque’ heeled putters

Bettinardi’s Antidote line joins the ever-growing ranks of traditional looking putters.
The company has announced two new additions to its popular Antidote “Zero-Torque” line: the limited edition Hexperimental #7 and #9 putters.
“Simply Balanced™ over the past 18 months has been the most talked about putter tech, but it was only available on the center-shaft,” Bettinardi Golf President Sam Bettinardi said in a statement. “The Hexperimental #7 and #9 open that up for a lot of players, with the same zero torque gain, in a build they tend to underestimate.”
The #7 is a compact mid-mallet, while the #9 is a wide-bodied blade with a high toe. Both models were teased in prototype versions on the PGA Tour, debuting at the Cognizant Classic.

What’s really new about Bettinardi Antidote Hexperimental putters – and why you should care
Bettinardi was one of the first manufacturers to enter the US low-torque market with the LAB Golf and its Antidote SB1 and SB2 back in the fall of 2024, and since then two more models have joined the family. But everything is centered.
With the new Hexperimental putters, Bettinardi offers perhaps one of the most traditional looking low torque putters by using a long neck design.
Instead of being routed in front of the neck, as in a traditional plumber’s neck, the shaft goes through the neck on the Herperimentals and is directed to the center of gravity of the putter.

Like the rest of the Antidote line, the Hexperimental inserts will feature the company’s FIT face, which removes 30 percent of the face material for a soft and responsive feel.
Bettinardi Antidote Hexperimental System
In a departure from the rest of the Antidote line, both Antidote Hexperimental putters are finished with Black Armor TPT on the topline and flange and feature blue compression markings on the face and shaft.

What’s going on: Compact mallet shape with a rear window designed to push weight to the perimeter and increase stability. The unique long neck design gives the putter toe-up properties to stay square through the putting stroke.
Whose: Players resist putters with low torque due to medium shafted designs and want the benefits of alignment and mallet forgiveness.

What’s going on: A traditional high toe wide body blade with square angles and an uneven shape. The unique long neck design gives the putter toe-up properties to stay square through the putting stroke.
Whose: Players looking for a more traditional look in a low torque putter.
My take: Low torque putters are improving
Last year, no putter from a major OEM offered you both a heel-shafted design and low torque, but that all changed quickly.
In what appears to be the next frontier of low torque, everyone seems to be rushing to release an option that appeals to those who have avoided this category.
Bettinardi is a brand that prioritizes looks and feel, something that is often overlooked in other low-torque offerings and that is clearly evident here. From an appearance standpoint, these may be some of the most attractive torque putters from any angle.
The low torque gap is often divisive, but I wouldn’t be shocked to find people getting these Hexperimental putters, rolling them, then realizing they have low torque.
I’d love to get my hands on one of these, especially the #9, as I’ve recently stopped using low torque, but with a traditional release, would these get me back in? They certainly look the part.
