Levels
Adam Andersson is a young footballer who plays for Leksands IF in Sweden. The 17-year-old already has impressive size with plenty of time to grow. He uses his frame to advantage by fighting hard for the puck and playing a two-way game when he’s on the ice.
The center is an offensive playmaker with good vision and spatial awareness, and his physicality allows him to easily pick up and retain the puck. His season was split between the U18 Region, U18 Nationell, and U20 Nationell divisions for the Leksands IF franchise. He played a combined 36 games and tallied six goals and 20 assists.
Andersson has also played in many international tournaments, including the U18 World Championship, the World Junior A Challenge (WJAC), and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. His best showing came during the WJAC season—he tallied six points (two goals, four assists) in five games.
In 19 international games, Andersson scored 16 points, 13 of which were assists. His consistent, reliable playmaking ability helped his teams earn a silver medal at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and a bronze medal at the WJAC.
Although his play is an important asset, he needs to improve his scoring and shooting accuracy. His goal total is very low for a forward, especially one looking to find success at the NHL level. He will need to build confidence in making plays for himself, rather than giving up passing and creating offensive opportunities for others.
Adam Andersson – NHL Draft Projection
The center will likely be taken in the third round of the draft. He’s usually ranked somewhere between No. 60 and No. 80 overall, but there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on where he’ll land. Andersson will need to go to a team willing to develop him. He’ll need plenty of time to develop his scoring and swing skills before he’s ready for the NHL. However, he could be a hidden gem and an offensive weapon alongside the top scorer for several seasons.
Some Profiles Are Under Construction
Measurements
“C Adam Andersson (“C” rated) is a… power-forward who is around the boards, in front of the net, and down the floor. He uses high energy, fights hard, and has good two-way knowledge, but his feet hold him back.” –Chris Ralph Shankara, Upside Hockey
“Adam Andersson is a big, aggressive two-way center at 6’3 and 200lbs. Andersson is a strong power forward who excels offensively and has good vision and puck awareness. Defensively, Andersson has shown that he can be a tough and tough player and can handle tough pressure.” – Luke Sweeney, Dobber Prospects

NHL Power
Andersson has NHL potential after some development. A team looking for a player to put next to their star scorer could find value in a center fielder. His two-way game adds to his strengths, as the complete player becomes more important as the game progresses and changes. He will need time in the minor leagues and/or on the farm team to develop to full strength before he is ready for the NHL.
