Man Utd is ‘valued’ considering British manager Sir Alex Ferguson likes
Fabrizio Romano has shared an important update on Manchester United’s search for their next manager, after Michael Carrick spoke about his future at the club this week.
Carrick said he loves managing Manchester United but is “not in a rush” for an answer on his future after the end of the season.
It has been 100 days since the Red Devils appointed their former midfielder, captain and coach for the rest of the season to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the departure of Ruben Amorim in January.
Carrick has exceeded the expectations of many observers since then, with wins over the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and most recently Chelsea leaving them third in the Premier League.
United are within touching distance of Champions League qualification and talk naturally turns to next season, when it remains to be confirmed whether the 44-year-old will continue.
“I’ve said it many times, I enjoy being here, I enjoy the role I’m in,” manager Carrick said ahead of Monday’s home game with Brentford.
“We had good results and we are in good shape. We still want to continue to improve, there are layers we want to reach, for sure. I will see.
“I keep saying the same things every week, there’s a lot I could say about that, but I’ve said it too often.
Again, I enjoy being here, I love being here. It is a real privilege to be in this position that I am in but I thrive on the responsibility that we have.”

“Actually, it’s not something I’m in a hurry about the last days, I think it will become clear when it becomes clear.

“Right now we’re doing everything right. We can keep pushing and getting better, so, really, that’s all I’m focused on right now.”

Fabrizio Romano calls Carrick ‘serious’ candidate
According to Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, United’s board are now seriously considering handing Carrick the reins.
“You hear from within United that they are very happy – very happy – about Michael Carrick, more recently than ever.
“It’s started very well, but in recent weeks Michael Carrick has a big chance of taking a permanent job at Man United.”
Carrick will be supported by one man – none other than Sir Alex Ferguson, who tipped the 44-year-old as a great manager even during his playing days.
What does Sir Alex Ferguson say about Michael Carrick?
Ferguson is believed to be in favor of giving his former student a permanent job, having chosen him for his character years ago.
“From the minute we bought Michael in 2006, his character has always stood out,” said the legendary manager.
“He is a football man and that character, coupled with his ability, has convinced him that he will be a huge success at United.”
