Man Utd are now considering a £50m move for Vivell’s favorite Anderson

Manchester United are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer, with Casemiro set to leave, and are now considering a move for VfB Stuttgart star Angelo Stiller.

However, the Bundesliga star is not the only option on the shortlist, with the Red Devils also looking to sign Elliot Anderson, who is expected to complete a move to Manchester at the end of the season.

United will need to move quickly if they are to beat their rivals to sign the England international, according to Fabrizio Romano, who recently said: “Then for Elliot Anderson, I always tell you that Man City is on it. They are looking for a player, they have started negotiations with his camp. They have started a deal to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.

“However, nothing has improved. Man City wants to respect Nottingham Forest in its relegation battle. He is an important player, so now is not the time to discuss the money to buy players. We will have to see at the end of the season what will happen in the Championship or the Premier League. That will be important to understand the money.”

Man Utd are looking at alternatives for Anderson after Man City continued to pursue

If the prospect of a move to the Etihad Stadium proves too tempting for the Nottingham Forest star, Man United will be forced to move on to other targets, and now have a genuine desire to sign Stuttgart star Stiller.

That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk, which says recruitment manager Christopher Vivell is a big fan of the German maestro, who is expected to cost somewhere in the region of £50m.

Manuel Ugarte is now expected to move forward, alongside Casemiro, increasing the need for United to bring in at least two new midfielders this summer, while Ben Mattinson was left very impressed with Stiller’s performance in the 2023-24 season.

The scout said: “One of the most consistent DLPs this season and a breakout star. Complete and capable of being a solo #6. Decent ball winner with a fantastic left foot that can blast, cut, cross and flick passes from deep. Secure too.”

The 25-year-old also has five assists to his name in the Bundesliga this season, and averages more passes per 90 in the Bundesliga (69.5) than any of Michael Carrick’s Premier League players.

Man Utd are preparing for the clash with Leeds

Of course, qualifying for the Champions League will be crucial for Man United, when it comes to attracting top-class players in the summer, and they are in a strong position to finish in the top five.

Before the match against Leeds United at Old Trafford on Monday night, the Red Devils are in third place, seven points behind sixth place Chelsea, with only seven games remaining.
