After several failed attempts, Arsenal ended their ten-year wait to win the Premier League title during the 2025/26 campaign – giving fans memories to last a lifetime.
However, manager Mikel Arteta will no doubt be hoping that success was not a one-off and that the Gunners can replicate their success in the next campaign.
The Spaniard built his team into defensive unity, as his side scored 27 goals, the most in the division.
After the title success, a real push has been put into developing the forward line this summer to make the squad a force to be reckoned with in 2026/27.
Work has begun behind the scenes in North London in recent weeks, which has seen one player reach full agreement with a deal to join Arteta’s side.
Why Tzolis would be a great signing for Arsenal
A few days ago it was reported that Arsenal have now agreed a €40m (£35m) deal with Club Brugge to sign winger Christos Tzolis.
The Greek international has been linked with the Gunners in recent months, particularly after Leandro Trossard was linked with a move away from the Emirates.
The 24-year-old may be an unknown quantity to many supporters in North London, but Arteta’s side have secured a top-class attacking midfielder.
Tzolis played 52 times in all competitions during 2025/26, after which he registered an impressive total of 22 goals and 29 assists in all competitions.

His combined tally of 51 goals was the highest of any Gunners midfielder, as he tallied eight efforts in the Champions League and put him ahead of any other member of Arsenal’s first team.
The midfielder ranks in 14% of all attackers in Europe with 90 crosses completed – which could see him provide continued opportunities for the likes of Viktor Gyökeres in North London.
He also registered 1.5 shots on target from 90 in Europe’s top club competition – which could give Arteta’s side the attacking option they have been hunting for this summer.
Arsenal have a bigger talent than Tzolis in his way
In their quest to become Premier League champions, Arsenal have shifted their focus to recruiting top quality young players in the hope that they can develop into top talent.
The backcourt partnership between Gabriel and William Saliba is a great example of what can happen when a recruiting team gets it right on the trade market.
Both players were a key part of Arteta’s side last season in England’s top flight – arguably a key reason the club can boast the best record allowed in this division.
However, management shifted their focus to finding the next generation of young attacking talent – after which they approved a move for 16-year-old Edwin Quintero.
In December it was reported that the Gunners had reached an agreement with Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle regarding the youngster – with his twin brother Holger also included in the deal.
Of the two, Edwin will prove to be the more exciting, and he showed his talent earlier this month by scoring on his first team match for his boyhood outfit.
IDV have gained fame for their impressive talent transfer belt – with Moises Caicedo, Piero Hincapie, Willian Pacho, Joel Ordonez and Kendry Paez all coming out of their school in recent years.
As for Quintero, he will be hoping to be the next name to be included in the aforementioned list after attracting the attention of one of Europe’s top five clubs.
At just 16 years of age, he may have to wait to make an impact at the Emirates, with the youngster confident of linking up with the academy when he completes his transfer in January 2027.
Como scout Ben Mattinson praised the youngster last year, saying Quintero “can run games and do things for no reason” – something Gunners fans should be excited about.
Playing two senior players and one goal created enough excitement for the 16-year-old to get the fans talking in North London – with the arrival of Tzolis not dampening that excitement.
The Greek international would undoubtedly be an immediate addition to Arteta’s side, but his long-term place at the Emirates could be in jeopardy if Quintero reaches the level many are targeting.
He undoubtedly has a long way to go before he lights up the Premier League, but who’s to say that Quintero won’t be the latest player to emerge from the shadows and lead the Gunners to more money in the future?
