Ederson is disappointed to have missed out on a Man United transfer dream
Ederson is reportedly disappointed to have missed out on his “dream” transfer to Manchester United, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils had an agreement for the Atalanta midfielder, but pulled the plug at the advanced stage due to concerns about his fitness, with some suggestions that he even failed part of his treatment.

Man Utd have agreed a £35m deal with Atalanta, according to a recent report from BBC Sport, but now the deal is off, with Romano detailing how it happened in his latest YouTube video.
The Italian journalist says that Ederson is disappointed that he could not go to United as it was his dream to move to Old Trafford.

“Let me confirm to you what I was telling you 24 hours ago. Manchester United’s Ederson agrees,” said Romano.
“I know there have been different details (sic), some people say it hasn’t been decided. It’s not clear. We still have to wait. And again, I respect all that, but Atlanta confirms again today that the player has been informed that he has to return to Atlanta. He will not be signed by Manchester United. So that’s the situation of the club.
“Atlanta is ready to receive the player. Atlanta believes that Ederson is completely fit and ready to play football regularly. So there are no problems with that. I can also add to you that Ederson has already left England and Ederson is ready now to go on vacation and return to Atlanta. So that is the situation of the parties involved waiting for the position of Manchester United.

“I think that after what happened Manchester United wants to take an official position and I respect that obviously. So we have to wait for May United’s position but Atlanta and the player’s camp make it clear that the deal is not happening. And I’m a little disappointed on the players’ side because Ederson really had this dream to play for Manchester United.”
Manchester United need to find new midfielders
Romano added in his video that United will continue to be in the market for midfield signings as the Ederson issue remains unresolved.
One player who should be on his way to MUFC is Chelsea’s Andrey Santos, according to The Athletic and others, but there is also room for new additions in that area of the pitch.
United lost Casemiro on a free transfer this summer, while Manuel Ugarte has struggled for form and is now injured, possibly for a long time, so they will not be able to go into the new campaign with only their available options.
Ederson has shone for Atalanta and looks like he would have been a good signing for United, but it is probably best they didn’t go ahead with the deal if there were doubts about his fitness.
