Rangers are looking to rebuild their midfield, after failing to challenge for the Scottish Premiership title last season, and have already secured the signature of Dan Neil.
Speaking after his arrival, Neil said: “It’s a new chapter for me, and I’m really excited to be signing for Rangers. I’m looking forward to what the next few years will bring.
“I have played for Sunderland for many years and the weight and expectations of the fans to win every week, and the feeling that it makes or breaks people’s weekends, is what drives me.”
However, with the Scottish side looking at Nicolas Raskin’s exit, they are still on the lookout for a new midfielder, holding talks to sign Partizan’s Vanja Dragojevic.
Dragojevic is not the only target on the shortlist, with the Gers entering talks over a contract for Sturm Graz star Ryan Fosso.

Rangers are in talks to sign Ryan Fosso
As revealed by Tavolieri, in a Sky Sports report (via Sport Witness), Rangers have entered into talks to sign Fosso, and are now well into the race for his signature.
However, Levante have sent a tangible offer, and Torino are still keen, so the Gers will have to fend off competition elsewhere if they want to get a deal over the line.
How does Ryan Fosso compare to Dan Neil
Neil has no experience in Scottish football, but, at least, he has proven himself in the English Championship, winning promotion to Sunderland in 2025 and Ipswich Town last season.
The Englishman played 44 games for the Black Cats in the regular season, averaging 1.9 tackles per 90 and 1.1 tackles per 90.
Fosso, on the other hand, averaged 2.3 tackles and 1.5 interceptions in 90 for Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie, indicating that he may be stronger than Neil from a defensive perspective.
After signing for Sturm Graz in January, the two-time title holder from Cameroon was once again praised by sporting director Michael Parensen, who said: “Ryan Fosso brings not only great athleticism but also game smarts, energy, and the right mindset – many qualities we were looking for at this position.”
If the Austrian side are willing to cash in on their January signing in the near future, he would be a great addition to Derek McInnes’ squad.
