Man Utd and Newcastle enter race for £103m star as club already look for replacement

The merry-go-round is still going strong in the Premier League.
If anything, it’s accelerating as Newcastle United look for a replacement for Sandro Tonali and Manchester United close in on Ederson.
The Magpies have come through the window, agreeing a deal to sign young Ajax star Sean Steur and opening negotiations to sign Swiss midfielder Johan Manzambi, who enjoyed an amazing World Cup.
The Tyneside club was not done there, however. They also face Manchester United in the hotly contested race to sign Felix Nmecha from Borussia Dortmund.

Honesty |
Nmecha emerged as one of the players who emerged from the World Cup despite Germany being disappointed. And with Dortmund looking to raise funds, Newcastle have joined Man United in the cold for a signing. |
|
Finance |
As mentioned, Dortmund are looking to fund their summer run and have placed a hefty €120m (£103m) asking price for Nmecha. |
|
Understanding |
The midfielder is in the same position as Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch. He is an excellent ball developer and ball winner, who can replace Tonali at Newcastle and his teammate Ederson at Old Trafford. |
|
Impact |
While such a big deal would end Newcastle’s recent turmoil, it would also end Man United’s pursuit of Alex Scott if they win the race. |
Both clubs will have to break their transfer records to sign Nmecha this summer, but he proved on the big stage that he is worth every penny.
Man Utd and Newcastle race for Nmecha’s big deal
According to Bild, as reported by Fakazi WeZeperem, Man United and Newcastle are in the race to sign Nmecha this summer.
Dortmund are clearly worried about interest, having already put in an asking price of €120m (£103m) and began their search for vacancies.
The Premier League duo are reportedly leading the race to sign the German, but it remains to be seen whether that interest will turn into an official offer.
Dortmund are in no rush to sell but would happily move in if a price was met, allowing them to reinvest their new money.
£103m Nmecha will solve Man Utd’s Ederson problem
The rebuilding of Man United’s stadium has been interesting to watch so far. They missed out on some top picks in Mateus Fernandes and Elliot Anderson, and the profile of the player they need is clear.
They must not face the same fate in the race to sign Nmecha. With the top scorer on his way to Ederson, the Red Devils will face a shocking problem if they fail to match the Brazilian with the professional football. Quite simply, it will be Manuel Ugarte again.
Nmecha’s passing was on full display at the World Cup, especially when he helped Deniz Undav beat Ivory Coast in the group stage.
He picked a pass that only he saw and played the ball forward to the goal beyond the lines. Give Benjamin Sesko the same service at Old Trafford, and goals will be inevitable.
