Fabrizio Romano confirms Arsenal’s inquiry into Alex Scott
Speaking on YouTube, Romano revealed that Arsenal have started talks with Bournemouth to explore the terms of a deal for the 22-year-old England midfielder.
The question comes shortly after the North London club were hit back in their pursuit of Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, forcing Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s recruitment team to focus on other targets.
Romano emphasized that Scott’s profile is very attractive to top clubs, especially because his residence adds significant value to the top English clubs.
Staying on the midfielders – I wanted to mention Alex Scott from Bournemouth, who is one of the most interesting midfielders in the Premier League, and the English, which includes mainly the top clubs in England.
That’s why Arsenal made a call – already sent back to Bruno Guimarães – Arsenal also called Alex Scott. A conversation with Bournemouth took place.
Bournemouth’s message: “We don’t need money — we’ve sold a lot of players in the last 12 months. We want to continue with Alex Scott.”
They offered him a new contract that could include a release clause to get him out in the future. So right now it’s hard to get Alex Scott – there’s still two months to go, and we’ll have to see if Arsenal or others try again.
But for now, Bournemouth’s position is to keep him; they got a call from Arsenal but they are not progressing yet.
Why Arsenal are interested in Alex Scott
Scott has developed into one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League thanks to his technical quality, composure under pressure and adaptability.
His domestic status makes him an attractive option for Arsenal as the clubs continue to balance Premier League and UEFA club registration rules.

Stan Collymore advises Alex Scott to succeed at the top clubs
Former Liverpool player Stan Collymore has said that Alex Scott has done well for the senior team, praising the midfielder for his unique ability in the middle of the pitch.
He said:
“If I was one of the top six or seven teams, I would want him in my team.
“There are few players who can do what he does, especially getting out of tight spaces, there is no doubt about his ability, that was seen in his handling of the England team during the friendly matches.”
While Bournemouth remain keen on keeping Scott, Arsenal’s interest shows how highly the midfielder is regarded, and he could remain a player to watch throughout the transfer window.
