England vs Panama player ratings

Jordan Pickford – 7

It was mostly unproblematic on a comfortable evening, but Pickford got the hang of it when it mattered.

He got down well to deny José Luiz Rodríguez after a Panamanian counter-attack threatened to open the scoring, showing sharp brilliance when England’s defense was brought up short.

Jarell Quansah – 6

Quansah made his first appearance in the tournament after Reece James was ruled out through injury.

The former Liverpool player started at right back and had a good game, although there were times when he looked nervous.

Booked for a foul in the 60th minute. But the night did not end well for him as he was taken off injured and Djed Spence came in to fill his place.

Marc Guehi – 8

The Manchester City defender was a colossus at the back. Organized, creative, and outstanding in spirit, Guehi has been one of England’s most outstanding players in every division of the club.

He led the back line brilliantly and kept Panama’s threat intact. His best performance in the tournament.

Ezri Konsa – 6

Konsa found himself out of bounds several times during Panama’s attacks, but he finished with strength, helping his team to keep a clean sheet.

Nico O’Reilly – 6

Another guaranteed display from the Manchester City man. It was given wide down the left and he drove forward with all intents and purposes.

Saka and Rashford were seeing plenty of the ball out wide, but O’Reilly’s low runs gave England another attack. Growing in this tournament with each passing game.

Elliot Anderson – 7.5

The Nottingham Forest midfielder had a steady rather than eye-catching night. Put in the right shift off the ball and help England shut down any Panamanian attempts to get forward. The platform he and Rogers provided allowed Bellingham the freedom to roam, which proved decisive.

Morgan Rogers – 7

Rogers was handed a starting spot in place of the rested Declan Rice and did enough to justify Tuchel’s faith.

Energetic and energetic, he successfully organized the field and helped England to keep its printing press. He will not be in the headlines but he played his role properly.

Jude Bellingham – 9 | Man of the Match

The Real Madrid star announced himself on the biggest stage of all. Bellingham scored to make it 1-0 and assisted Kane with the second header, making him – at 22 years and 363 days – the youngest England player since 1966 to score and assist in a World Cup match.

He took over the game in the second half, doing excellent work down the left before crossing for Kane to head home.

After a draw with Ghana, this was the Bellingham the world had been waiting to see. Electricity.

Watch Saka – 6

The first half saw him get a lot of the ball but the Arsenal star didn’t do much with it.

The second half was better. Combined with clever passing and precise running he was unlucky not to add to his goal. His strength, as Tuchel said, is important to how far this England team can go.

Marcus Rashford – 7

Like Saka, he also saw more of the ball in the first half and was England’s best player in the first 45 minutes.

The second half was relatively quiet but it was his long ball that freed Bellingham and set up Kane’s second.

Harry Kane – 8

The captain delivered when it counted. Kane did not make a mistake as he drove England close by scoring a goal with a header that doubled England’s lead, he became England’s top scorer in the World Cup away.

It was good work from Bellingham, who connected with Rashford’s long ball before placing it on his captain’s plate. He had to wait for his chance but he took it with the clinical authority you expect from one of the best strikers in the world.
