Benfica will accept bids of £34m after the player’s choice from Liverpool and Tottenham

As it turns out, the threat of relegation in not one season but two in a row is enough to drive any club from life. Tottenham Hotspur, who just avoided relegation on the final day, look like a team that means business for the first time in two seasons.
The Lilywhites have wasted no time in recruiting, almost building a new backline with the additions of Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and £52m Jan Paul van Hecke.
But they are not finished yet.
Offer made: Tottenham submit £65m bid upfront to sign “quick” player.
Spurs are determined to support Roberto De Zerbi.
They also looked at Sandro Tonali, submitting two offers worth £75m, only for Newcastle United to reject those offers and demand a whopping £100m.
Whether the North Londoners decide to match that asking price and break their transfer record is now the big question. There is no denying that a player of Tonali’s caliber could take Roberto De Zerbi’s to another level.

And then there’s the Spurs’ best offense. It is arguable that it has not gone well since the departure of Harry Kane and the departure of Heung-min Son is also far from helping.
With the defensive targets secured and a central midfielder, ENIC now turn to an exciting winger who can solve their attacking woes.
Tottenham are battling Liverpool to sign the World Cup star
One thing the Lilywhites can’t be accused of is a lack of ambition this summer.
Spurs are already battling Arsenal to sign Tonali while also battling Manchester United for Mateus Fernandes, and now they’re up against Liverpool.
According to Portugal Record, Andreas Schjelderup wants to move to England amid interest from Tottenham and Liverpool this summer.

The winger is expected to turn down a contract extension to move to the Premier League, leaving Benfica with no choice but to be given the green light for a €40m (£34m) deal.
Whether Spurs or Liverpool match that asking price remains to be seen, but it is clear to see why they are interested in the 22-year-old.
In terms of output, which De Zerbi desperately needs in his starting line-up, Schjelderup would be an excellent addition. The same can be said for Liverpool, who will be forced to find an alternative to Yan Diomande if RB Leipzig call for his exit this summer.

Schjelderup should finish Tel’s job for Tottenham
Mathys Tel may still be a young player, but now is the time for Tottenham to be ruthless. He has shown little sign that his ceiling is high enough to be a regular Champions League star and that is what everyone involved at the North London club should aim for.
Schjelderup’s arrival will and should end Telten Tottenham’s career. The Benfica man is already doing better than the Frenchman and looks set to improve after a big move.
At only 22 years old, he will once again give Spurs the Son the position they have been looking for. The player, himself, will have a big decision to make if Liverpool and the Lilywhites come calling, but Spurs’ desire suggests this is a race they can win.
