Tottenham ‘improved’ Martin Dubravka talks after surprise Alasdair Gold update

Tottenham’s summer recruitment drive continues to shock as the club reshapes Roberto De Zerbi’s squad.
A number of big deals have been completed as Spurs look to strengthen several key areas of the club.
The most expensive arrival so far has been Jan Paul van Hecke.
Tottenham agreed a £52 million deal with Brighton for the Netherlands international after making him one of their leading defensive targets, and the Dutchman joined a growing list of additions including Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
All three defenders have arrived as part of Tottenham’s efforts to improve depth and experience at the back.

In addition, Spurs continued to work for Savinho.
The Man City winger is still under consideration as Tottenham explore options to strengthen their attacking department, with the recruitment of midfielders becoming another focus.
Sandro Tonali is still one of the most talked about names inside.

Spurs are not playing this summer.
Reports over the past two weeks have revealed that Tottenham have already held talks with representatives of the Newcastle midfielder, and the Magpies’ price has been reported to be around the £100 million mark.
Recent reports have suggested that Tottenham have submitted an £80m opening bid that falls short of Newcastle’s demands, while at the same time, the club have explored other options in midfield.
Mateus Fernandes has been another player linked with a move to north London.
The West Ham midfielder has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, with Tottenham among those monitoring his situation in the window.
With work being done at multiple positions, attention has now turned to the goaltending department.
Tottenham in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Martin Dubravka on a free transfer
According to football.london’s Alasdair Gold, Tottenham are now in ‘advanced discussions’ to sign Martin Dubravka on a free transfer.
The move would represent one of the most unexpected signings of Tottenham’s summer.
Dubravka recently spent a few years at Newcastle and established himself before joining Burnley last summer.
The Slovakian played more than 170 times for Newcastle in all competitions during his time at St James’ Park.
Tottenham’s interest appears to be focused on strengthening their goalkeeping options behind first-choice Guglielmo Vicario, and there are suggestions the Italian could leave.
Vicario’s future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks following reported interest from Juventus.
Because of this, the Spurs have been exploring many situations in the goalkeeper department.
Dubravka’s experience is believed to be one of the biggest attractions, and the goalkeeper has played extensively in domestic and European competition.
He has also represented Slovakia at the international level many times.
A free transfer would allow Tottenham to add that experience without making a huge transfer fee.
That would be especially useful if the club uses it elsewhere in the market, especially in Tonali.
